The Crossing Album Artwork
This project involved designing album cover art and accompanying booklets for The Crossing, a renowned choir based in Philadelphia. The visual direction was shaped by a hand-crafted illustration process, allowing each artwork to respond directly to the tone, rhythm, and emotional character of the individual compositions. By sketching, refining, and layering analogue textures, the imagery was developed to harmonise with the choir’s sound — creating a dialogue between art and music. The final designs aim to translate the ensemble’s intricate vocal work into a visual experience, forming a cohesive space where illustration and sound coexist in balanced, resonant unity.

In addition to the album artwork, the illustrations were also integrated into the design of the program booklet. Each composition was paired with its own dedicated illustration, helping audiences visually identify and connect with each piece. This approach ensured consistency across all materials while extending the visual identity of the project into the choir’s performance experience.
